Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All the adults patient with Drug Resistant Epilepsy of age group 18 to 70 years. Able to communicate verbally and agree to participate in the study. Had a diagnosis of epilepsy for atleast 1 year of duration. The patient who understands Hindi or English. Patient had stable clinical condition at the time of assessment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient with significant psychiatric comorbidity illness. Patient with other systemic illness like Chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease that affects mental state of the patient. Female pregnant patient diagnosed with Drug Resistant Epilepsy. An inability to complete relevant education and scale filling.

To assess the effectiveness of a Comprehensive Targeted Self-Management of Drug Resistant Epilepsy on medication adherence, self efficacy and negative health events among patients diagnosed with Drug Resistant Epilepsy attending Neurology OPD, KGMU, Lucknow.Timepoint: Baseline (pre-test) and after completion of intervention (post-test at 4 weeks).

To find out association between selected Demographic variable & Medication Adherence among Drug Resistant Epilepsy patients.Timepoint: Data will be collected at baseline (pretest) using a structured demographic questionnaire & the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS8) & medication adherence will again assess after 4 weeks by morisky medication adherence scale;To find out correlation between Self Efficacy scores & Quality of life scores among Drug resistant epilepsy patients.Timepoint: At post-test (after four weeks of intervention program)
