Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of traumatic brain injury having GCS less than 8,18 to 65 years of age,of either sex admitted in ICU on mechanical ventilation,having nasogastric tube inserted but not initiated feed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Refusal of consent by attendants,deranged liver and kidney functions,dyselectrolytemia,SOFA score greater than or equal to 2,patients on prokinetics,obesity having BMI more than 25,abnormal ecg,abnormal trauma or surgery,patient on neuromuscular relaxants,allergy to macrolide group of drugs,Diabetes mellitus and cervical injury patients

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare gastric volume after erythromycin by ultrasound following 300ml of water at various time intervals.Timepoint: To compare gastric volume baseline,30 minutes,60 minutes and 120 minutes.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Gastric emptying rateTimepoint: gatric emptying rate at 1 hour and 2 hour after giving feed;Perlas gradeTimepoint: to compare perlas grade at baseline,30 minutes,60 minutes & 120 minutes.;Association between Optic nerve sheath diameter & gastric emptyingTimepoint: To measure optic nerve sheath diameter at baseline on day 1 & day 2
