Intervention1: Nil: Nil Control Intervention1: Sarcopenia: Patients with Rectus femoris muscle thickness less than 1.1 cm in males and less than 1 cm in females
muscle grip strength measured by dynamometer less than 30kg in males and less than 20kg in females. Control Intervention2: Non Sarcopenia: Patients with Rectus femoris muscle thickness more than or eq
muscle grip strength measured by dynamometer more than or equal to 30kg in males and more than or equal to 20kg in females

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age more than 50 ECOG scale 2 or 3 Head and Neck carcinoma surgery Abdominal and thoracic carcinoma surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal ECOG scale less than 2 or more than and equal to 4 Muscular dystrophies and associated autoimmune diseases Burn patient Hypokalemia Stroke Sepsis Preexisting cardiorespiratory disease Parkinsonism Steroid intake more than 5 days
