Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American Society of Anaesthesiology grade 1 and 2 patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anaesthesia will be recruited

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency surgery, neurosurgery, neurological disease, history of development delay, any deformities that prevent application of EEG sensors on patients forehead, history of alcohol abuse, patients on drugs altering EEG, hypothermia or hyperthermia, hemodynamic instability, basal metabolic index greater than 30 or less than 18, frontal sinus surgery, duration of surgery more than 4 hours

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To assess correlation between Entropy and Sedline monitors during isoflurane general anaesthesia.Timepoint: baseline, at induction, intubation, skin incision, every 30 minutes after skin incison till 240 minutes, closure, recovery, extubation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Comparison of isoflurane consumption with Entropy & SedlineTimepoint: at data analysis;Comparison of isoflurane minimum alveolar concentration(MAC) with Entropy & SedlineTimepoint: MAC values of isoflurane will be noted from skin incision, every 30 minutes after skin incision till stopping of agent & will be assessed at data analysis;Time to extubation/recovery profile with each of the monitor. Timepoint: at data analysis
