Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Biological sibling (first degree) of an individual diagnosed with Schizophrenia Minimum education 5th standard or equivalent No current Psychiatric illness

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of neurological illness or intellectual disability Substance use disorders in past 6 months Serious medical illness affecting cognition Use of cognition impairing medications

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare cognitive functioning (measured by Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Trail Making Test A & B, and Digit Span Forward and Backward) between unaffected biological siblings of individuals with schizophrenia and age, sex, and education matched healthy controls.Timepoint: Single time point at baseline

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To identify specific cognitive domains (attention, working memory, processing speed, & executive function) that are significantly impaired in unaffected biological siblings of individuals with schizophrenia compared to healthy controls.Timepoint: Single time point at baseline
