Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are willing to participate in trial and ready to give written consent. Patient of either gender, aged between 20-60 years irrespective of caste, religion, socioeconomic and educational status will be included. Patients present with classical signs and symptoms of Gridhrasi. Patient having positive SLR test on examination. Patient who had not participated in any research work since last six months will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient with age group less than 20 years and greater than 60 years will be excluded from the study. History of any fracture of vertebral joint or surgical or diagnostic intervention with reference to affected joints will be excluded. Gross disability in performing daily normal routine i.e. bedridden patient or confined to a wheelchair will be excluded. Patient with co-morbidities such as gouty arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and tubercular arthritis. Patient with spinal deformity, spinal tumors and evidence of malignancy. Patients of Gridhrasi with uncontrolled hypertension i.e. systolic BP greater 150 mmHg and diastolic BP greater than 100 mmHg and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus i.e. Fasting sugar greater than 130 mg per dl and Post meal sugar greater than 250 mg per dl will be excluded. Pregnant and lactating women. Patients with diabetic neuropathy or any other form of neuropathy will be excluded from the study. Patients with contraindications to Sthanika Abhyanga and Nadi Swed will be excluded from the study.

To evaluate the efficacy of only Vatari Guggulu in the management of Gridhrasi w.s.r.t. sciatica on scoring pattern for subjective criteria in a period of 30 days. To compare the efficacy of Vatari Guggulu with Sthanika Abhyanga and Nadi Swed and only Vatari Guggulu in the management of Gridhrasi w.s.r.t. sciatica on Gridhrasi Scoring Pattern in a period of 30 days. Timepoint: On 0th day, 10th day, 20th day, 30th day
