Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients irrespective of gender having age between 30 to 70 years. 2.Patients diagnosed with Vibandha with the help of Performa based on its classical signs and symptoms. (as per developed questionnaires) 3.Patients with history of of constipation for more than 3 months. 4.Patients of Constipation diagnosed with the of Bristol stool chart (Patients having two or three types of stools from all seven types given in this chart.) and ROME III Criteria (patients having two or more symptoms from this criteria) No antibiotics in the last one month.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with known case of any of the following disorders, which causes secondary constipation are excluded. 1. Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders: Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, Hypothyroidism, Hypercalcemia, Hypokalemia, Uremia (chronic kidney disease), Addison s disease. 2.Patients with known case of irritable bowel syndrome. 3.Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis), Celiac disease, Gastrointestinal infections, Peptic ulcers with complications, Fistula in ano, Chronic hemorrhoids with severe pain or bleeding, any history of GI surgery affecting colon/rectum. 3.Structural and Mechanical Obstructions: Colorectal cancer, Intestinal obstruction (e.g., volvulus, strictures) Megacolon or Hirschsprung s disease, Anal fissure or rectal prolapse, Rectocele or pelvic floor dysfunction. 4.Neurological and Neurodegenerative Disorders which causes secondary constipation are Parkinson s, disease, Multiple sclerosis, Spinal cord injuries, Stroke, Myasthenia gravis, Alzheimer s disease, Diabetic neuropathy. 5.Medication-Induced Constipation Medicines which lead to secondary constipation Chronic use of opioids Antidepressants (e.g., tricyclics) Antipsychotics Calcium channel blockers, Iron supplements, Anticholinergics, Antiepileptic drugs.
