Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients scheduled for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia 2. Patients of either sex of age between 18 to 60 years and American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) I and II. 3. Patients willing to give Informed and written consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with known allergies to magnesium or lignocaine. 2.Patients with anticipated difficult airway. 3. Patients on beta or Calcium channel blockers. 4. Hypertensive patients whose blood pressure more than 140 by 90 mmHg. 5. Hypotensive patients whose systolic blood pressure less than 90 mmHg. 6. Patients with hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

MeasureTime frame
To assess and compare the effect of intravenous magnesium sulphate and lidocaine on mean heart rate 2 minute after intubation.Timepoint: 2 minutes.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To assess and compare the effect on Mean Systolic blood pressure (SBP) between the three groups. 2. To assess and compare the effect on Mean Dystolic blood pressure (DBP) between the three groups. 3. To assess and compare the effect on Mean Arterial pressure (MAP) between the three Timepoint: 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 7 minutes.
