Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Subjects having smoking and tobacco chewing habit for 5 years and above. 2 Subjects without any oral lesions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Patients with oral potentially malignant disorders and malignant lesions. 2 Patients exposed to radiation, chemotherapy and potential occupational exposures.

To evaluate and correlate salivary thiocyanate levels and frequency of micronuclei in smokers and tobacco chewers.Timepoint: To evaluate and correlate salivary thiocyanate levels and frequency of micronuclei in smokers and tobacco chewers. Time Duration 8 to 12 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To evaluate the level of salivary thiocyanate & frequency of micronuclei in smokers. (Group I) To evaluate the level of salivary thiocyanate & frequency of micronuclei in tobacco chewers. (Group II) To evaluate the level of salivary thiocyanate & frequency of micronuclei in having habit of both smoking & tobacco chewing. (Group III) To evaluate the level of salivary thiocyanate & frequency of micronuclei in patients without any tobacco habits. (Group IV-Control) To correlate salivary thiocyanate levels & frequency of micronuclei among the study groups.Timepoint: Time Duration is 8 to 12 weeks
