Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with mild to moderate gingivitis and having teeth and surrounding tissues clinically and radiographically free of any other pathology will be included. Only healthy individuals without systemic diseases will be enrolled

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Individuals with physical limitations that hinder normal tooth brushing or mouth rinsing, those presenting with severe intraoral infections, or those who have used any mouthwash or antibiotics within the past month will be excluded. Medically compromised patients, individuals on long-term medication, patients reporting with pain requiring immediate treatment, and those wearing fixed or removable orthodontic appliances or removable prostheses will also not be included in the study.

Change in the microbial load (colony-forming units, CFU) in saliva measured using culture techniques. Change in the microbial load (colony-forming units, CFU) in aerosols by assessing the number of bacterial colonies formed in blood agar culture plate before and after use of mouthwashes positioned in the operating room during ultrasonic scaling.Timepoint: Baseline and then post rinsing.
