Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosed subjects with diabetes mellitus type 2 with diabetic peripheral neuropathy 2.All subjects coming into the range of more than or equal to 11 biothesiometer readings 3.Subjects on hypoglycemic agents for DM 4.Subjects not on any treatment or therapy for diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant women 2.Lactating mothers 3.Alcoholic subjects 4.Other conditions leading to peripheral neuropathy [For example: Autoimmune conditions and inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy; Exposure to some heavy metals and industrial chemicals; Trauma and surgery] 5.Subjects with diabetes mellitus type 1

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Outcome will be assessed based on pre and post treatment within the given study time period by vibration perception threshold using biothesiometer. Improved - Amelioration of the symptoms with reduction in the VPT score normal: 1- 10 volts using biothesiometer. Not improved No change or aggravation of symptoms with increase in the VPT score more than 11 volts using biothesiometer.Timepoint: Baseline (0 days) and 6 months(180 days) after initiation of Homoeopathic treatment. Clinical follow up will be done monthly. Vibration perception threshold using Biothesiometer will be done at baseline and at the end of 6 months.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To compare the fasting blood sugar levelTimepoint: Baseline (0 days) and 6 months(180 days) after initiation of Homoeopathic treatment. Clinical follow up will be done monthly.
