Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Participants who have five or more episodes of true tonsillitis a year symptoms for at least a year and episodes that are disabling and prevent normal functioning Participants who are able to understand Bengali Hindi English Participants must be capable of giving written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants with known complications of peritonsillar abscess parapharyngeal abscess tonsilloliths tonsillar cyst acute or chronic respiratory disease occlusion of pharynx due to enlarged tonsils Participants with need for surgery of the nose paranasal sinuses and adenoids Participants who are on treatment with systemic antibiotics glucocorticoids and immune modulators during the week before inclusion Participants who are diagnosed with an unstable mental or psychiatric illness or other uncontrolled or life threatening diseases including organ failure that affect the quality of life Participants with an immunocompromised state Pregnant or lactating women Participants with substance dependence abuse
