Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients who are willing to provide written informed consent. Male and female patients aged eighteen to sixty five years. Patients belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status one and two. Patients scheduled for elective surgeries under general anesthesia requiring endotracheal intubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients unwilling to participate in the study. Patients with body mass index greater than thirty kilogram per square metre. Patients with increased risk of aspiration. Patients with anticipated difficult airway. Patients with congenital or acquired airway anomalies. Patients with loose teeth or edentulous state. Patients with cervical spine pathology. Pregnant women. Patients requiring rapid sequence induction.

MeasureTime frame
Quality of laryngeal view during direct laryngoscopy assessed using the Cormack Lehane grading system at different operating table heights. Timepoint: Assessed during laryngoscopy at the time of induction of general anesthesia, before and after postural modifications by the anesthesiologist.
