Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Individuals between 15 to 25 years of age of both sexes presenting with enlarged tonsils on physical examination and experiencing symptoms such as sore throat fever and dysphagia for a duration of less than three weeks were included
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Presence of red or white patches ulceration or swelling of the oral or pharyngeal mucosa for more than three weeks children suffering with chronic tonsillitis dysphagia for more than three weeks suppurative complications such as peritonsillar or parapharyngeal abscess ulcerative tonsils patients who are taking antibiotic treatment children suffering with goiter or any other pathological conditions related to the throat except tonsillitis diphtheria and peritonsillar abscess
