Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Children under 14 years of age 2. Clinical and radiological diagnosis of unilateral hip septic arthritis 3. Symptom onset within 10 days prior to presentation 4. Ultrasonographic evidence of joint effusion 5. Informed written consent from the parent/guardian
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Bilateral or polyarticular involvement 2. Immunocompromised children (eg, malignancy, on immunosuppressants) 3. Prior surgery on the affected hip 4. Presentation beyond 10 days of symptom onset 5. Known bleeding disorders or contraindications to anaesthesia 6. Refusal to participate or withdraw consent
