Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Guardian willing to given written informed consent for participation in the study. 2.Paediatric patients aged between 2 and 6 years. 3.Scheduled for elective inguinal hernia repair surgery. 4.Classified as American Society of Anaesthesiologists physical status 1 and 2

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Guardian refusal to provide consent. 2.Presence of cardiac dysrhythmia. 3.Mental retardation. 4.known allergy to any of the study drugs.

To assess and compare duration of post operative analgesia between two groupsTimepoint: Till 24 hours after completion of surgery

1.To assess and compare number of times rescue analgesia required in 24 hours post operatively in both groups. 2.To assess and compare the degree of sedation in both groups for 24 hours. 3.To assess and compare occurrence of any side effects. 4.
