Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Cases- 1.Adults aged 30 70 years 2.Diagnosed with T2DM (as per ADA criteria) 3.Diagnosed with DN all stages included according to KDIGO guidelines (based on UACR, eGFR.) 4.Consent to participate Controls- 1.Controls are above mentioned patients except for the development of DN.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Other kidney diseases (non-diabetic nephropathy) 2.Obstructive uropathy 3.Patient on nephrotoxic drugs, Liver failure, Previous cardiovascular events, Autoimmune disorder, Acute or chronic infection or malignancy 4.Current use of immunosuppressive or anti-inflammatory therapy, Pregnant and lactating females

MeasureTime frame
1. To estimate the level of serum TXNIP, IL-1beta and MDA in patient of diabetes mellitus type 2 with and without nephropathy. 2. To determine the gene expression of TXNIP , IL-1beta in Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients with and without nephropathy. 3. To assess the correlation between levels of TXNIP and , IL-1beta and its expression with parameters of renal function.Timepoint: At the Time of Enrollment only
