Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To quantify the changes in optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) caused by controlled alterations in end-tidal CO2 levels (Etco2)Timepoint: First reading at 10 min after general anaesthsia with EtCo2 of 35 mm Hg, second at 5 min after attaining the EtCo2 level at 30 mm Hg and the third reading at 5 min after attaining EtCo2 at 35 mm Hg again. Final reading at 5 min after attaining EtCo2 at 40 mm Hg. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| To measure the effect of variable levels of end-tidal CO2 on hemodynamic parameters i.e. Heart rate (HR), Mean arterial pressure (MAP) & oxygen saturation (SPO2)Timepoint: Measurement of HR, MAP & SPO2 will be recorded before induction of anaesthesia, after induction of anaesthesia, after intubation & with every ultrasound measurement at various EtCo2 levels every 5 minutes | — |
