Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 18 and 65 years 2. Diagnosed with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome as per ICD-11 diagnostic criteria 3. Currently receiving treatment from Kasturba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal, through inpatient, outpatient, or consultation-liaison services. 4. Clinically stable, with no acute withdrawal or delirium, and with adequate cognitive functioning, as determined by a score of less than or equal to 23 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) 5. Able to understand and communicate in either Kannada or English 6. Those who are willing to participate in the study and provide written informed consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with any other comorbid psychiatric disorders (except tobacco dependence), such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or severe depressive episode 2. Presence of severe physical illness (e.g., hepatic encephalopathy, advanced cardiac/renal failure) affecting participation 3. Having delirium or acute alcohol withdrawal symptoms, or having significant cognitive impairment, defined as a MoCA score less than 23
