Intervention1: Addition of probiotic to the standard therapy (ORS plus Zinc): Bacillus clausii suspension of 5ml (2 billion spores)once a day to group A will be given for 5 days or earlier if resolved

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Children aged 6 months to 59 months 2)Onset of acute diarrhea in the last 48 hours (Defined as 3 or more stools per day)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1)Chronic diarrhea(Diarrhea lasting more than 14 days) 2)Severe acute malnutrition 3)Known immunodeficiency syndromes (eg HIV, primary immunodeficiency disorders) 4)Dysentry(Loose stools associated with blood) 5)Severe comorbid conditions(Congenital heart disease,chronic kidney disease) 6)Recent antibiotic use in the last 7 days 7)Known hypersensitivity to probiotics
