Intervention1: Brachial Plexus Block will be performed before the surgery, using standard technique: Patient will receive 0.5 per cent Ropivacaine + Dexmedetomidine (1 mcg/kg) for total duration of 3

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 to 60 years of American Society of Anesthesiologist 1 and 2 undergoing elective surgery of forearm and wrist under Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Allergy to drugs, Coagulopathy, pre-existing neuropathy, local site infection, pregnancy or lactation

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare onset and duration of sensory and motor block between both groupsTimepoint: baseline, every 5 minutes for first 30 minutes then every 30 minutes up to 4 hours and then hourly for 24 hours

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) To compare post operative diclofenac sodium needed as rescue analgesia 2) To compare hemodynamic between both groupsTimepoint: 24 hours
