Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnostic criteria of National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) for metabolic syndrome, which include a waist circumference greater than 88 cm in females and greater than 102 cm in males, along with at least two criteria with regular medication. •Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) greater than or equal to 130 mmHg •Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP) greater than or equal to 85 mmHg •Triglycerides (TGL) greater than or equals 150 mg/dl •High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (HDL-C) less than40 mg/dl for males and less than 50 mg/dl for females •Fasting Glucose (FG) greater than or equal to 100 mg/dl)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with psychiatric disorders 2) Pregnant and lactating mothers 3) Patients with acid peptic disease, ascites, liver and kidney failures 4) Patients with recent surgical intervention within the past 3 months

Estimation of fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin level.Timepoint: Estimation of fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin level on day 1 and day 15

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Height, Weight, Waist-hip ratio, Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood pressure, Lipid profile and fasting blood glucose. Timepoint: secondary outcome parameters will be assessed on day 1 and day 15.
