Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children from 6 to 12 years of age, irrespective of sex, and chronicity, acute and recurrent cases (at least three episodes in a year or episode followed by intake of any cold items or specific substance). Clinically diagnosed patients of Tundikeri. Patients who are willing to participate in the study, consent/assent will be taken from the parents or guardian.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients beyond the age range of 6-12 years, and who are not willing to participate in the study. Patients with peritonsillar abscess, paraphyrangeal abscess, tonsillar lith, tonsillar cyst and any other complication will be excluded from this study. Patients with any severe diseases like TB, Juvenile Diabetes and HTN. Patients who are on other medication which may alter the result of study.

Primary

Reduction in size (imflammation) of tundikeri (tonsils). 2. Reduction in severity of pain. Timepoint: Day 0 , 2nd week,4th week,6th week, 10th week

MeasureTime frame
Antimicrobial activity assay of Shigru GugguluYoga on causative microorganisms. Assessment of microbial load reduction through throat swab culture. Changes in hematological parameters such as : CBC, ESR, CRP(Quantitative) Timepoint: Day 0 , 6th week
