Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children with acute kidney injury according to KDIGO criteria with serum albumin levels less than 3 g/dl having any indication for hemodialysis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: children allergic to albumin or having hemoglobin less than 10 g/dl or if the extracorporeal volume comes out to be greater than 10% of blood volume of the subject

MeasureTime frame
Mean difference in net ultrafiltration volumes when priming is done with 5% albumin as compared to no priming in hypoalbuminemic children aged 1-18 years with AKI undergoing hemodialysis. Timepoint: 1 year

To compare the effect of priming with 5% albumin and no priming is done Number and duration of episodes of intradialytic hypotension Number and volume of saline bolus given (in the event of any hypotensive episode) Inferior Vena Cava Collapsibility index/Inferior Vena Cava Distensibility Index pre and post dialysis Post dialysis weight, BP, serum albumin levels within 30 minutes of dialysis session Timepoint: 1 year
