Interventions

Intervention1: Preoperative dexamethasone administration: Immediately before induction of anaesthesia in emergency laparotomy, 1mg/kg dexamethasone will be administered intravenously to the patient. C

Inclusion criteria: Patients presenting to surgery emergency with acute abdomen

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with diabetes mellitus People living with HIV Patients with chronic steroid usage Patients with chronic kidney disease Patients with chronic liver disease Patients with disseminated malignancy
