Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients willing to give informed consent for the proposed study. 2.ASA 1 and 2 3.Age 18 to 70yrs 4.Duration of surgery less than 120mins.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant and lactating women. 2.Hypersensitivity to local anesthetic drugs. 3.Patients with coagulopathy or bleeding disorders or (platelet count less than 50,000). 4.Spine abnormalities (kyphosis/scoliosis) 5.BMI less than 30kg per m2

MeasureTime frame
1)To Compare the sensory block, motor block and hemodynamic parameters in patients undergoing infra umbilical surgeries under spinal anaesthesia in Sitting Vs Lateral positions. 2)To determine the ease of the procedure and proportion of post dural puncture headache within 48hrs of administration of spinal anaesthesia, in sitting vs lateral positions. Timepoint: After the spinal injection, patients will be assessed every three minutes for the first 15 minutes, then every five minutes for the following 30 minutes for height of sensory and motor blocks.
