Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All senile cataract patients with diabetes who will be fulfilling the inclusion and exclusion criteria will undergo manual SICS.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with other conditions which contribute to dry eye like glaucoma,blepharitis,ectropion,entropion. Patients with preexisting dry eye. Previous history of ocular surgery. Previous history of ocular trauma ,complicated cataracts. Previous history of usage of drugs like anti histamines,anti depressants , retinoids , beta blockers,oral contraceptives,chemotherapy. patients with autoimmune disorders. patients with intra operative complications. patients who lost follow up.

To assess the changes in tear film parameters by 1. OSDI Questionnaire. 2. Corneal sensations. 3. Tear film breakup time (TBUT). 4. Tear meniscus height. 5. Schirmer s test 1. Timepoint: Baseline,1 week , 6 weeks
