Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients posted for elective surgeries under general anaesthesia 2.American Society of Anaesthesiologists(ASA) physical status 1 and 2 3.18 guage cannula on dorsum of hand

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnant females 2. Patients posted for emergency procedures 3.Patients allergic to study drugs 4.Patients requiring rapid sequence intubation 5.Patients with extrapyramidal symptoms

To evaluate for reduction of pain on propofol injection with metoclopramide versus lignocaine as pretreatment, using verbal rating scaleTimepoint: 15 seconds

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To observe for adverse effects of the study drugs like itching & swelling, at the site of administration.Timepoint: Patients will be followed up to 6 hours.
