Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Mechanically ventilated patients 2. Patients admitted to the Critical Care ICU of JIPMER, Puducherry 3. Inability to swallow food orally and having indication for nasogastric tube feeding 4. Hemodynamically stable patients
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Development of ability to eat orally during the study 2. Need for any urgent diagnostic or therapeutic procedure that requires nil per oral 3. Presence of fistula, obstruction and surgery of the gastrointestinal system
