Interventions

Intervention1: ?Clarified butter (desi ghee) ?: With standard medical treatment this group will receive diet comprising of 30 kcal and 1 gm protein per kg ideal body weight/day. Calories will be 55-60

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients with mild-moderate Ulcerative Colitis (UC), Simple clinical colitis activity index (SCCAI 3 ? 9), UC endoscopic index of severity (UCEIS) of more than 1, Age:18-70 years, On stable dose of oral 5- aminosalicyclic acid (more than 4 weeks), azathioprine/6-mercaptopurine (more than 3 months), and topical therapy (more than 2 weeks)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: On oral steroids or antibiotics in past 4 weeks and 2 weeks, On Advanced therapy in last 6 months, Hyperlipidemia or on Statins, Concomitant gastrointestinal infection, CAD, CVA, DM., Pregnant females
