Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients 18-75yrs presenting with anticipated airway difficulty for head and neck cancer surgery, Consenting to be part of study, ASA I-III, Upfront/Prior NACT/RT, Associated Neck Dissection/ reconstruction by free or pedicle or local flap or primary closure, Elgazeri scoring for difficult airway constituting After Anesthesia Induction constituting Awake intubation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Non-consenting patients, Any other method for airway securing by gadget, Supraglottic airway device as ventilation/ intubation conduit, Front of neck access, Emergency Tracheostomy.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1)First attempt successful tracheal intubation rate with the hybrid technique compared with flexible bronchoscopy in a propensity score matched cohort of patients destined for either awake or anesthetised intubation in anticipated difficult airway.Timepoint: 5 minutes from attempt to intubate

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1) Time to achieve intubation by the fiberscope 2) Eventual successful tracheal intubation rates 3) Incidence of airway related complications and technical difficulties encountered. 4) Cross-over technique if any. Timepoint: Immediate till 24 hours
