Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients more 18 year old admitted to the intensive care unit with diagnosis of sepsis, defined according to sepsis -3 criteria(suspected or confirmed infection with sofa sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA)score of more than3)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patient with missing triglyceride or glucose values within 24 hours of ICU admission.icu stay within 24 hours(early discharge,or death within one day) patient with decompensated liver disease or end stage kidney disease requiring dialysis,patient receiving lipid lowering drugs, and pregnant patients
