Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 2 to 12years 2. Elective cardiac surgery via midline sternotomy which will be for early extubation 3.ASA Physical Status II or III

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Parental refusal 2.Congenital spine or chest wall deformity 3.Patients with allergy to local anesthetics 4.Past h/o seizures, developmental delay, behavioural disorders 5.Emergency surgeries 6.Aortic cross clamp time more than 90 minutes

1.To compare intraoperative Fentanyl consumption 2.To assess intraoperative hemodynamics 3.To assess the time to first rescue analgesia. Timepoint: 12 hours
