Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The study will recruit collegiate students aged 18 to 25 across both genders. Participants selected for the chronic low back pain (CLBP) group will need to meet additional criteria. They will be required to have a confirmed diagnosis of CLBP - defined as lower back pain persisting for three months or more verified by a physical therapist. They will also need to report mild to moderate pain levels on the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and score between 20% to 40% on the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). Based on these criteria, 12 healthy collegiate with CLBP will be enrolled. A group of 12 healthy collegiate, matched for age and gender and free from any health conditions, will also be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any other orthopedic or medical condition aside from CLBP and any symptoms suggestive of inflammation, such as fever, infection, or swelling. Used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or received steroid injection in the past year, or have undergone and spinal surgery.
