Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The study will include gypsy children residing in Pondicherry who are either receiving a dental checkup for the first time or have previously exhibited signs of fear during dental visits. Eligible participants will be those who fall under categories II (negative) and III (positive) on the Frankl Behavior Rating Scale, indicating moderate levels of uncooperative or cautious behavior.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Subjects will be excluded from the study if they have diagnosed neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or ADHD, significant mental health conditions, or any other special needs that may independently influence anxiety levels. Exclusion also applies to children requiring emergency dental care or complex procedures, those with phobias related to darkness or claustrophobia, and those with known hypersensitivity to aromatherapy components such as lavender or vanilla, or an aversion to sensory stimuli like lights or music. Additionally, children who have previously undergone dental procedures under pharmacological behavioral management, as well as those whose parents or guardians do not provide consent for participation, will be excluded from the study.
