Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Any gravida with cephalic presentation and vertex as presenting part, Obstetric high-risk factors ruled out by clinical and ultrasound examination,Normal foetal heart rate pattern (CTG) before the time of induction,Women in whom active phase of labour is established as diagnosed by regular uterine contractions and cervical dilatation is more than 4 cms.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Previous Malpresentations,Previous lower segment caesarean section,Instrumental deliveries,cephalopelvic disproportion,any medical disorder complicating pregnancy,Maternal coagulopathy,Infection at local site of catheter placement, Anatomical deformity of spine or any local infection,Allergy to study drug
