Understanding How Modern Chemotherapy Affects Survival in a Rare Type of Pancreatic Cancer from Cystic Tumors (called as IPMN) and Testing New Guidelines titled (2023 KYOTO)

The impact of contemporary neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy treatment regimens on recurrence and survival in resectable, borderline resectable, locally advanced and metastatic adenocarcinoma arising from IPMN (A-IPMN) and internal validation of 2023 KYOTO guidelines: ADENO-IPMN 2 study - ADENO-IPMN 2

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients diagnosed with A-IPMN on histopathology of surgical specimens or had a biopsy confirming A-IPMN, between January 2017 and December 2023, irrespective of whether they received adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Histopathology of resected specimen was not A-IPMN PDAC with concomitant A-IPMN PDAC with an associated non-invasive IPMN

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To determine the overall and disease-free survival following resection for A-IPMN with and without contemporary neoadjuvant chemotherapy and to Validate High-risk Stigmata (HRS) and Worrisome Features (WF) in the Kyoto guidelines and the development of A-IPMNTimepoint: January 2017 and December 2023

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To determine the impact of Neoadjuvant chemotherapy type on recurrence Timepoint: January 2017 and December 2023;To determine the impact of Adjuvant chemotherapy type on recurrence Timepoint: January 2017 and December 2023;To determine the impact of the response of A-IPMN subtypes and high-risk groups to neoadjuvant chemotherapyTimepoint: January 2017 and December 2023;To determine the impact of the response of A-IPMN subtypes and high-risk groups to adjuvant chemotherapyTimepoint: January 2017 and December 2023;To determine the impact of HRS and WF criteria on the histopathology of resected invasive IPMN specimensTimepoint: January 2017 and December 2023;To determine the impact of current use of cyst fluid biomarkers in invasive IPMN and their role in surveillanceTimepoint: January 2017 and December 2023
