|---|---|
| 1.The study will demonstrate that inflation of the ETT cuff with alkalinized 2% lignocaine is superior to normal saline in decreasing the incidence of cough, sore throat, and hoarseness of voice during the postoperative period in smokers undergoing surgery in general anaesthesia. 2.Efficacy of intracuff alkalinised lignocaine in attenuation oh haemodynamic stress response compared to intracuff normal saline is significantly higher in ASA-1 and 2 patients with respect to HR, SBP, DBP and MAP.Timepoint: These outcomes are based on observations made after intubating and inflating the endotracheal cuff of patient to extubation and follow up after 1, 6 and 12 hours in postoperative period. | — |
