Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult patients aged 18 years or older who are admitted to the ICU invasively ventilated and expected to stay for at least 48 hours will be eligible for inclusion

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients will be excluded if they are pregnant have known anatomical anomalies or obstruction of the IVC present with unreliable IVC windows on ultrasound liver cirrhosis or if consent is refused
