Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: patients posted for craniotomy -ASA 1 2 and 3 -18 to 65 hrs age -Duration lasting 60 to 360 mins under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: -Patient refusal -Emergency cases -Patients with uncontrolled hypertension, preoperative bradycardia, ischaemic heart disease, or cardiac arrythmias, severe pulmonary or hepatic or renal disease -Drug allergy to local anaesthetic and/ or clonidine/dexmedetomidine -Past history of craniotomy -Patients on alpha blockers preoperatively
