Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Mothers whose babies are admitted in NICU for a minimum period of 5-7 days. Mothers who give consent for the study. Mothers with no prior psychiatric/psychological illnesses

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Mothers whose babies are in NICU for less than 5 days. Mothers who do not give/ withdraw consent for the study.

MeasureTime frame
To assess the baseline stress levels in mothers whose babies are admitted in NICU, To assess the effect of serial counselling on their stress levels. Timepoint: Pre counselling questionnaire done to assess the stress levels in both groups on the day mother sees the baby for the first time(Considered Day 1 of study) in NICU using PSS:NICU score, further grading done using Likert scale.—
