Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between 21 years to 60 years of age. Patients who are fit for Basti Karma. Patients who have given written consent to participate in the study. Patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria. History of Fatty Liver with clinically diagnosed for less than the last 1 year. USG finding suggestive of Fatty Liver grade 1 or grade 2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients having chronic heart disease, chronic renal failure, hepatocellular or any other carcinoma, portal vein obstruction, ascites, or any of the serious illnesses. Alcoholic fatty liver disease, any infective liver disorder, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and any surgery or any acute infection. Patients consuming hepatotoxic medicines, alcohol or other narcotic substances. Pregnant and lactating women.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
It is expected that after the completion of the study we would be able to establish the role of Kaphahara Basti and Phalatrikadi kwath in the management of NAFLD. At the same time, the safety of the proposed treatment regimen would also be established.Timepoint: 12 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
It is further expected that, upon the completion of the study, we will be able to establish the role of Kaphahara Basti and Phalatrikadi Kwath in the management of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). At the same time, the safety of the proposed treatment regimen would also be established.Timepoint: 11 months
