Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. American society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I to III. 2. Patients of either sex scheduled for unilateral or bilateral Hip surgery under General or Spinal anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ASA IV patients. 2. Frail patients. 3. Patients with pre-existing neurological disorders 4.Patients on anticholinergics 5. Patients with alcohol abuse 6. Allergy to local anesthetics 7. Patient on opioid previously 8. Scheduled for other surgical procedure along with hip surgery and revision surgery. 9. Patient with sepsis, hepatic or renal failure 10. Patient refusal 11. Inability to consent to the study

MeasureTime frame
To assess the incidence of POCD.Timepoint: at 24 hours, 1 week and at time of discharge from hospital
