The serum sodium levels of patients presenting to us are correlated with the severity of acute complicated appendicitis and at end of study, to check how many patients with low preoperative serum sodium levels had a complicated appendicitis and thus make a conclusion.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of both genders presented withs signs and symptoms of acute appendicitis, confirmed by clinical features and USG-proven appendicitis Clinically proven acute appendicitis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Comorbidities that alter serum sodium value: SIADH, CKD, CHF Patients with metabolic disorders and previous abdominal surgery. Use of medications like diuretics and antidepressants
