Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ICUs with a history of nosocomial infections. Availability of standard disinfectant practices prior to the trial. ICUs with surface areas that can be effectively treated by fumigation and fogging.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: ICUs currently under experimental disinfection protocols. Hospitals using disinfectants with similar active ingredients to CitrobioShield.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Reduction in Surface Microorganisms: Measured by surface swabbing and microbial culture methods pre- and post-application of CitrobioShield. Incidence of Nosocomial Infections: Tracked through patient records and infection surveillance data during the study period. Timepoint: 4 weeks

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Safety Profile: Evaluation of any adverse events related to CitrobioShield use in the ICU environment. Environmental Impact: Assessment of any residues or effects on ICU equipment & surfaces post-disinfection.Timepoint: 4 weeks
