Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Partial/Complete visually impaired children aged 6-13 years of age Partial/Complete visually impaired children with completely erupted permanent incisors and first molars Visually impaired children who can read braille Informed consent of the Parents

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children with no visual impairment children with systemic diseases affecting oral hygiene children with history of recent dental treatment (3-6 months) children with severe cognitive disabilities

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement of the oral hygiene status and dietary habits and decrease in streptococcus mutans count of visually impaired children before and after interventionTimepoint: follow up at baseline, 3 months and 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Change in knowledge, attitude, & practices (KAP) Measured using pre- & post-intervention Braille questionnaires to assess improvements in oral hygiene & nutritional awareness. 2. Improvement in dietary habits Determined through post-intervention self-reported data or caregiver feedback about food choices, especially sugar intake frequency & timing. 3. Acceptability & feasibility of the audio-tactile intervention Evaluated based on feedback from children, caregivers, & teachers regarding the ease of use, comprehension, & interest generated by the audio-tactile Braille book. 4. Change in Streptococcus mutans count As a microbiological indicator reflecting the risk of dental caries before & after the intervention.Timepoint: At baseline, 3 months & 6 months
