Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1.To study the correlation between intraoperative RV strain measured using transesophageal echocardiography and immediate post operative recovery as assessed by length of ICU stay, duration of mechanical ventilation, vasoactive inotropic score, incidence of Major Adverse Cardiac Events (MACE) and length of hospital stay.Timepoint: Baseline (pre operative), post cpb, at 24 hours and 48 hours of ICU stay. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. To compare RV strain & conventional echocardiographic indices of right ventricular function like TAPSE, Tricuspid annular S velocity & Tricuspid inflow E/A ratio as predictors of post operative adverse events. 2. Assessment of the efficacy of the corrective measures taken in the event of deranged RV Strain values on the clinical outcome of the patients. Timepoint: Preoperative, post cpb, at 24 hours & 48 hours of icu stay | — |
