Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A smoking history of at least 2 years Willingness to participate in an 8week structured exercise program Willingness to abstain from smoking alcohol and caffeine on assessment days Ability to provide informed written consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: diagnosed with cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological or psychiatric disorders or if they were currently enrolled in any other fitness or cessation program Individuals with musculoskeletal injuries or physical limitations that could interfere with exercise participation were also excluded
