Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinically and laboratory diagnosed patients of fatty liver by ultrasound (up to grade II) will be included. Patients having a BMI of more than or equal to 25 Non- alcoholic Fatty Liver on the basis of history. LFT: AST (30-120 U/L), ALT (30-100 U/L ), Serum Alkaline phosphatase (140-300U/L). Lipid profile: LDL- cholesterol level: 130-159 mg/dl, Triglyceride:150-250 mg/dl,HDL less than 40 mg/dl in men 50 mg/dl in Women.total Cholesterol: 200-300 mg/ dl (According to NCEP, Adult Treatment Panel III, 2001), Pre-diabetic patients, controlled type II diabetic patients with HBA1C less than 8%, Controlled hypertensive patients who are on Antihypertensive treatment (120/80 mmHg- 159/99 mmHg) Willingness to sign the informed consent, follow the protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Non Alcoholic fatty liver Grade III by ultrasound will be excluded. Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and/ Or Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) more than 2 times the upper limit of normal. Patients having serum LDL- Cholesterol more than 160 mg/dl Triglycerides level more than 250 mg/dl total cholesterol level more than 300 mg/dl. Patients having BMI less than 25. Uncontrolled hypertension (Blood pressure more than 160/100 mmHg) Uncontrolled diabetes Mellitus (HBA1C more than 8%), Patients with the history of jaundice & other liver disease, cirrhosis of liver. Pregnant and lactating woman Patients with the history of other systemic disease like gastrointestinal disease, CVD, renal disease. Patients unwilling to give informed consent.
