Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults aged 18 years and older of either sex who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Patients who are willing to provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with a history of gout, chronic kidney disease, cardiac disease, metabolic disorders (other than diabetes), or other conditions that might affect serum uric acid (SUA) levels. Pregnant or lactating women. Patients taking medications known to influence uric acid levels (e.g., loop and thiazide diuretics, aspirin, cancer chemotherapy drugs, etc.). Patients who have consumed alcohol within the last seven days.
